The State of the Content Universe: It’s Loud Out There!

When we talk about content today, whether we are the creators or the audience, too often we find ourselves asking how to “cut through the noise.” It would hardly be an exaggeration to say that we dedicate more time and resources to this challenge than actually creating and experiencing quality content.

The reasons behind why we face this dilemma on a daily basis are numerous, almost countless, but at the heart of the matter is the simple fact that the creator-audience relationship is now dictated by middlemen — social media platforms and search engines.

As creators, we’re stuck in a vicious cycle of paying social media networks and search engines to generate the same leads. We have to ask ourselves why are we wasting valuable resources on ads and SEO that we could be dedicating to creating better content, interacting directly with our audiences and strengthening loyalty.
